Fortescue Addition

The love and character of this suburb and traditional cottage spaces led these clients to this East Fremantle property. An addition was sought that would link the beautiful old, to a clean lined modern aesthetic, while focusing on creating a self sustainable home. The form responds to the northern aspect and the concept of a central hub alfresco area. A spine heat-sink wall captures the winter warmth and louvred façade naturally ventilate and cool. The living spaces address the lifestyle which will take place in the northern garden.

The build was finished in 2010.
The Builder, Econstruct, entered the project in the Greensmart awards, and we won our category in 2011. Over that very hot 2010/11 summer the new owners Alex & Jill were cool and comfortable without the need for air-conditioning.
Watch here for images of the project when it’s finished.
